The bank holiday weekend always feels like the perfect time to completely switch off. The weather gets better, plans start happening, and studying suddenly becomes the last thing anyone wants to think about.
But if you’re preparing for the Junior Cycle or Leaving Cert exams, using even a small bit of the weekend to stay on track can make a massive difference later.
At this stage, exams are getting closer very quickly. There are only so many school days left before students all over Ireland walk into exam halls in June, and every bit of revision you do now helps take pressure off your future self.
That does not mean you need to spend the whole weekend stuck at a desk. One of the biggest mistakes students make is thinking revision has to be all or nothing. It doesn’t.
Even doing: • one past exam question • one difficult chapter • a few flashcards • organising your notes • or one focused study session is still progress.
Using your ReviseWise books over the weekend is also a really good way to stay on track without feeling overwhelmed. They’re designed to break subjects down into manageable sections, making revision feel much more achievable when exams are getting closer.
It’s worth asking yourself: • Are you comfortable with all of your course summaries? • Have you completed the revision questions? • Have you gone through the exam tips and advice? • Do you know how to maximise your marks in each subject? • Are there any topics you keep avoiding that you could finally tackle this weekend?
Sometimes even just spending an hour working through a ReviseWise section can help you feel far more prepared and in control.

Subjects like Maths, Irish and English really benefit from regular practice, while subjects like Biology, Geography, Business and History become much less overwhelming when revised consistently over time.
The students who usually feel calmest during exams are often not the students doing last minute panic studying. They’re usually the ones who kept going little by little, even when motivation wasn’t always there.
You can still enjoy the long weekend. You can still take breaks, meet friends, relax and switch off for a while too. The goal is not perfection — it’s consistency.
A few small sacrifices now can lead to a far less stressful exam experience later.
Keep going. You’re doing better than you think 💛
