Top 5 Tips

1. Take note of vocabulary and expressions as you meet them and practice re-using them in your written tasks.

2. Listen to as much Spanish as you can because the listening exam is worth nearly half the marks (43%).

3. Make sure you know the basic grammar, especially the three main verb tenses.

4. Extend your vocabulary as much as possible by learning words by topic.

5. Familiarise yourself with the format of the exam, so you know what to expect on the day of the exam.

About the Author

Kay Macken

Kay Macken has worked in St Wolstan’s Community School in Celbridge, County Kildare since 2002. She teaches Spanish to all students, from first through to sixth year. This is her first book for Edco.

She is an honours graduate of University of Southampton, where she studied Spanish and French. Kay worked in Marketing for Time Warner and travelled extensively in France and Spain, before training as a secondary school teacher.
