Top 5 Tips

1. Teachers and students should familiarise themselves with the layout of the exam.

2. Try and answer as many questions as you can for section 1. Don’t forget to attempt all the tick the box questions.

3. You are allowed two hours to complete the exam paper. Follow the guide times given on the paper for each section to ensure you don’t run out of time.

4. Be familiar with all the key concepts/definitions for each section.

5. Highlight key words in the longer questions. Remember some questions require you to do several things. Identify what these things are.

Lori Fields-Whelan & Niamh McDermott

Lori Fields-Whelan is a teacher of Religion in Manor House School, Dublin. Niamh Mc Dermott teaches Religion in Colaiste Choilm, Tullamore having recently moved from Loreto College, St. Stephen’s Green. Both Niamh and Lori are graduates of Mater Dei Institute of Education and have worked for the Religious Education Support Service giving training to teachers in schools nationwide. They have also worked in the role of Chief Advising Examiners with the State Exams Commission at both higher and ordinary levels. In 2008 they also delivered a series of lectures to trainee teachers in Dublin City University.
